Default Fix Olias's bad AI

Most of the heroes have decent AI, and work a beauty IMO. But Olias is an absolute pain and it makes playing a nuisance at times, because I use him ALOT.

He has a tendency to run off on his own, to either attack something, ress someone or create a minion. He does that despite being miles away from a mob or the corpses.

He has a complete mind of his own and it can ruin a quest, mission, instance or what ever else!!

Anet please sort out his AI and stop him running off alone to do his own thing!! And this is while set on defensive or non-attack.

shift left click the skills you dont want him to spam untill you start doing whatever.

I shouldnt really have to do that to stop him just randomly running off.

I have monks who dont run a mile away to res a body outside of agro range. I have warriors who dont run a mile away to attack a creature outside of agro range.

If I run away and flag my heroes to stand in one location, Olias shouldnt be running off by himself to play with corpses or bad-guys that arent even within range.

I accept heroes need micro-management, but all except Olias are capable of not chasing agro when its out of range or you have told them to stand in one location.

His AI needs treaked.

Hero AI is not static. I have had no issues with Olias, or most of my heroes. However, Jin even on Defend, has a tendency to fire her bow at an enemy slightly out of range when nobody on the team has called a target, or attacked it themselves.

My Sousuke works fine, but my friend's has a tendency to rush into a mobto attack a caster in the back, when the friend is attacking a warrior in the front. He also has his Sousuke set to Defend, and will use builds like I do.

I don't know why it varies, but it does. Try using Master of Whispers in place of Olias with the same build. If it continues, you're screwed. If not, you have a new option.

If it were possible to fix it, I would sign this.... but I don't know how its possible with each person having different results.

I think that all necromancers have the same AI.

Jurah and Olias use exacly the same skills in the very same situations. And If I bring two warrirors, they sometimes may do exactly the same (even walking in the very same spot.)

My only concern about Olias is that he do not cancel casting when you are far away, and may focus too much on keeping alive his minions.

He should try focus on healing them when on offensive, but focus on following the party on defensve and Passive.

I never had a problem using Olias or Master of Whispers. Also remember that some skills can't be properly used since the AI doesn't have all the knowledge most players do. A classic example would be using Steady Stance and Drunken Blow.

I've actually been pretty happy with Olias' AI. Or maybe I haven't noticed his bad behavior. The only Time I recall the AI really failing badly was when I had the heroes/henches flagged to a spot after taking a beating. I lost two henches in the process. Despite flagging everybody Melonni decided to run twice the distance of the aggro radius to rez somebody, in the process aggroing a Harbinger and his minions. Couldn't quite figure out how that worked. Even Mhenlo and Kihm were smart enough to stay put...

I've been doing a lot of vanquishing, and Olias is always the first and most frequent to die. Obviously it becomes a problem when an MM dies.

The problem is this: I vanquish with my warrior, and whenever I go to aggro a new mob, Olias seems to aggro before I do, and so he goes down. The basic problem is that casters should be staggered behind a melee character when a melee character initiates aggro, instead of grabbing aggro before I do.

The problem you are having Vitis is that enemy foes often go after targets with low AL (and a necro hench who is constantly spamming health sac skills to keep his minions alive gathers aggro quickly).

Anyway, I have no problem with my necro AI (at least, I haven't noticed them get any worse). Play around with their build some more if you are having trouble. I find that they have energy issues and bring signet of lost souls to compensate. Works like a charm. They are great with my curses and blood builds.

My Olias is the opposite....I have to go round and kick his b*tt into action as the minions are standing behind me scratching their bits. I wonder though if its because im a ranger using a longbow...but that said I calling the damn targets for them and they still stand there.

I don't have this problem with my Warrior character at all they all seem to work ok, The ranger is new and just has terrible problems with AI on heroes.

Standing round doing naff all, not following targets, not following ME even though I've put a bloomin flag up for them to see, aggroing at distance, not aggroing at all, healing my pet and not healing me.
I even lost two last night in Iron Mines, they were having a picnic or something and decided to stay put, one was a hero and one was a hench ( what..... gold share not good enough you henchie leeches!!). I didnt notice until they went grey on the party list. Can ANET Pleaseee give us a /firehench emote. We employ em after all we should be able to fire them too

This doesnt happen on other characters at all just my ranger. I think elonians hate tyrians :P (Ban them all the racists !! )

I don't know what the answer is to be honest, its just plain weird.
